Limoges is the regional capital of the Limousin. The city offers a lot of beautiful sights, with its old neighbourhoods, the narrow streets and small squares like the Butchers district ", or the district of the "Travellers" this city is really worth a visit. The Roman bridges, St. Etienne and St. Martial, are part of the famous pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostella. The station deserves a visit with his 60-metre-high clock tower and art-deco stained-glass windows made by Francis Chigot, Limoges' glassmaking master. |

Oradour-sur-Glane, June 10, 1944, this village was totally destroyed by the Germans that day, the village has been enclosed and then destroyed. After this attack 642 people were killed, only six people survived. The occasion was probably the incursion of the allied troops in Normandy on June 6, 1944. Out of respect the village is still in the same state and to visit, a visit which will leave strong impressions. |
